I just don't know where to start with all the great things that have happened and all the exciting things yet to come.

First I want to say what a great time we had in January in our Metalworking Workshop Part II. Many thanks to Kieu Pham Gray from Bead Q. in Ohio for making the trek here and gracing us with her wit and knowledge. There were incredible creations that came out of the class, new friendships built and new techniques learned.
Beadeologie has declared Bead Q., in Rocky River and Chagrin Falls to be their sister bead store in the Mid-West!
 
One of our first joint ventures with Bead Q. will be Bead for Success. Bead for Success is a fundraiser that will challenge your creativity while helping someone in need. All proceeds and designs will be donated to Dress for Success to support their mission and clients.

How to participate? Purchase an "official" strand of pearls for $10.00 at beadeologie between
Feb. 15 - March 15th. You will need to submit an original necklace design using at least one pearl from the strand and return to beadeologie by April 1st. All designs will be judged and a winner will be declared in May 2010. All winning designs will be auctioned for Dress for Success and all submissions will be donated for clients of Dress for Success.

Here at beadeologie, we realized that we needed to start a basic stitch class for beginners. So, we decided that every month we would offer a new stitch for you to learn. Meghan McBrearty will be teaching you the technique of the stitch. Some stitches have more than one technique and she will be teaching you all of them. Our first stitch is Peyote Stitch. This is one of the most commonly used. The peyote stitch has a lot of different techniques so we will be splitting it into two different workshops. So, this month we will be concentrating on flat even count peyote, tubular peyote, and circular peyote. You will not be making any projects in class but, what you do work on can be turned into a project.

Class Policies: I have been working on bringing in some nationally known instructors and authors to teach and do demonstrations as well as hosting trunk shows. Some of these instructors will be traveling some distance to teach here so I want to just reiterate some of our policies as far as registering for classes. It is a requirement to pay the class registration fee before the scheduled class date. Most all of the classes will have additional costs for materials unless other wise stated. You will receive a 10% discount on materials purchased at the store for class. Some classes have a minimum requirement of 4 registered students for the class to run. If there are no students registered for class or if we are below the requirement, then the class will be canceled.

Now on to other exciting news! As you get this newsletter I will be on my way to Tuscan, AZ for the biggest gem and bead show in the United States. I am very excited to have this opportunity to see some very unique and beautiful stones and gems as vendors come from all around the world to sell their wears. I hope to bring back some unusual finds, creative ideas and bounds of inspiration to share with you all.
